Critical Thinking Question
Plate tectonic is the theory that attempt to explain the movement of the earth's lithosphere. It suggests that the out layer of the earth is divided into plates that move relative to each other across the surface of the earth. I think I agree with this theory because the tectonic plate has drifted apart have separated the continents and finally it created the seven continents that we live on. It also affects our live by causing earthquakes, mountains, volcanoes.
The plate boundary is an evidence of the plate tectonics. There are three kinds of boundaries that created because of the plate movement. The first boundary is divergent and it formed when two plates spreading from each other and creates the rift valley or mid-ocean ridge. The second boundary is the Convergent and it’s happened when two plates comes together and creates all types of mountains. Finally is the transform boundary and happened when two plates move side by side, it creates earthquake. When that happened under the ocean it creates tsunami.

In 1915, Alfred Wegener thought of the continental drift theory, which is an evidence of the tectonic plate. This theory says that all the plates used to be all together, one big continental, it called Pangaea. Seismic caused to break apart and drift away very slowly from one another on the tectonic plates.
Other evidence is the convection current. The convection current is when the heat from the outer core rises to the mantle and become cold , when the heat rises it becomes cooler and has a greater density and since it became cold, it goes down to the outer core again. The convection current is really important because it causes the plates to move.
In conclusion, I think plate tectonic are real because based on the results that we saw until today, such as: mountains, volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunami the plate tectonic is real and all this evidence supports my positions.
Reflection
About The Project
1) What did you
enjoy most about this project? Why?
The most things I enjoyed is doing different topic and working with most
of my friends.
2) What was most challenging for you during this project? Why?
The most difficult part in this project was the ring fire lab because it
was very boring and I don’t like working on maps.
3) What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
In this project I
learned a new skill from the Density Lab, I learned how to use triple beam balance
to Measure different rocks because I never use the triple beam balance to measure
something or even use it in a lab.
4) Is there
anything that you could have done to improve any of your work?
I think if I have
the chance to make this project again, I would take my time to print my quizzes
before the class begins.
5) What would you
change about this project?
If I have the
opportunity to change anything about this project, I would let the entire student
to do the same numbers of project because I saw a lot of
people complaining about doing more or less activities than their
other classmates.
There were the same amount of activities, they were just different numbers in the different levels….
